Integrability in Gauge and String Theory (IGST 2015)

13 July - 17 July 2015, London, King's College, UK

For a long time integrable models have been a source of beautiful results, as their hidden symmetries often make it possible to solve them exactly. The surprising discovery of integrable structures in gauge and string theories related by holographic dualities has opened an exciting field of study where new developments are happening at a fast pace.

Methods based on integrability have led to a plethora of new results both in gauge and in string theories, with novel techniques emerging for describing the spectrum, scattering amplitudes, correlation functions and Wilson loops. Applications of integrability range from QCD-inspired calculations of high energy processes in N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory to studies of minimal surface geometry in Anti-de Sitter space. At the same time, exploration of gauge/string theories offers novel perspectives on the mathematical aspects of integrability, such as Yangian symmetries, Hirota equations and quantum groups. As the subject has expanded over the years, the current edition of the conference will also include localization and other exact methods for studying strongly interacting models. Continued progress in this field gives us a hope to better understand nonperturbative dynamics in gauge theories as well as the nature of the AdS/CFT correspondence.

The aim of the IGST-2015 conference is to provide an overview of the subject, highlighting recent advances and bringing together experts on gauge and string theories, integrable models, mathematics and condensed matter systems. The meeting will also create a productive setting for discussions and interaction between researchers.

This event continues the series of annual meetings “Integrability in Gauge and String Theory” which started in 2005. Previous conferences:
